nabiya is a partnership of two seasoned hospitality professionals who; after working for others for years, began to have thoughts of what it would be like to own something for ourselves; something that celebrates our shared korean heritage and showcased beautiful california produce.

we continued to polish our skills and our vision, like a caterpillar transforming in a cocoon. now the butterflies are ready to emerge and take flight.

    thank you for learning with me.

    after working for “big pharma” i wanted a place to grow and find my voice. i found myself working every position in the front of house starting out as a back waiter to being a general manager.

    this is a dream.

  • isabell manibusan

    it’s fair to say food dominates my life. i spend my time researching new flavors, going to markets, and most importantly: eating.

    classically trained as a pastry chef, after a decade in the industry my resume is as long as a cheesecake factory menu.

    i’ve worked in restaurants that have been recognized by LA’s 101 best restaurants, michelin guide, bib gourmand and even a michelin star all in their first year of opening together. i’ve had the pleasure of working with james beard nominated chefs and many other talents.

    now, i’ve teamed up with my friend to continue our pursuit of great food and bring our culture to the forefront.
