nabiya is a partnership of two seasoned hospitality professionals who; after working for others for years, began to have thoughts of what it would be like to own something for ourselves; something that celebrates our shared korean heritage and showcased beautiful california produce.

we continued to polish our skills and our vision, like a caterpillar transforming in a cocoon. now the butterflies are ready to emerge and take flight.

    as a lifelong student, i discovered my passion for food, wine and hospitality after working every front of house position possible at several restaurants in San Francisco and Los Angeles.

    after working for “big pharma” i wanted a place to grow and find my voice.

    i like food and drinks. i like learning.

    it’s fair to say food dominates my life. i spend my time researching new flavors, going to markets, and most importantly: eating.

    classically trained as a pastry chef (JWU alum here), after a decade in the industry my resume is as long as a cheesecake factory menu.

    i’ve designed pastry programs at several acclaimed restaurants, most recently Liu’s Cafe, Liu’s Creamery, danbi, and Maude- gaining recognition on LA Time’s 101 Best Restaurants and the Michelin guide.

    now, i’ve teamed up with my friend to continue our pursuit of great food and bringing our culture to the forefront.
